How to use the Ops clean® sachet?

Instructions for Solid Laundry Detergent

You just bought an Ops clean® sachet or you would like to know more about how to use it? You're in the right place because in this article, we'll explain how to use the Ops clean sachet to effectively do you laundry.

Ops Clean's solid laundry detergent is the ultimate eco-friendly alternative to replace your regular liquid detergent. The sachet is crafted by us in Lyon and contains 100% natural purified magnesium. When placed in water, the magnesium reacts to impart washing properties to your machine's water. For detailed information on the process that cleans your clothes down to the core fibers, you can refer to our "How it Works" page.

1 Ops Clean sachet in a nutshell:

  • 7 kilograms of laundry per wash.

  • Beyond that, 2 sachets are needed.

  • 350 washing cycles.

  • Respects fibers and colors.

  • Guaranteed savings: 3 to 5 times cheaper than regular detergents.

  • Healthy and 100% natural: no fragrances or other irritating substances on clothes.

  • More environmentally friendly than conventional detergent: magnesium does not pollute water.

  • Easy to use: 1 sachet = 1 year of peace of mind.

  • No more stock management, no more measuring needed, no more bottles to carry.

Less effective sachet, end of life?

You won't have to count every load and make a little mark up to 350, we promise! After several months of use, weigh your sachet on a scale.

  • If the sachet weighs more than 80 grams: it's still fully effective, and you can continue to use it as usual.

  • If the sachet weighs less than 80 grams: the sachet no longer contains enough magnesium to be fully effective. Don't throw the sachet away. You can either buy a new sachet. In this case, keep the first one. Once both sachets weigh 80 grams or less, use them simultaneously until their combined weight goes below 80 grams. You can also continue using the sachet weighing less than 80 grams by adding a small amount of detergent (1/4 of the usual dose) until you receive your new sachet.

If your sachet weighs more than 80 grams but its effectiveness seems to have decreased, it's possible that the magnesium has oxidized due to prolonged contact with water or humidity outside of the washing machine. In this case, it's recommended to perform a process to remove the oxidation.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Mix cold water (250 ml) and 1/2 glass of white vinegar or 1 teaspoon of citric acid in a glass or plastic container, making sure to protect your eyes and hands. Do the integrity of the process outside.

  • Submerge the Ops clean sachet in the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes, ensuring it is completely immersed.

  • A reaction will occur, which may slightly increase the water temperature and release a harmless gas (it is however not suggested to expose yourself to it).

  • Rinse the sachet with clear water.

  • Hang the sachet up to dry.
